Presidential candidate for the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP), Dr. Henry Lartey, has congratulated Nana Akufo-Addo, for ‘winning the 2020 presidential election’
His congratulatory message comes even though the Electoral Commission is yet to officially declare the results from Monday’s general election.
According to Dr. Lartey, figures available to him indicates that Akufo-Addo has won the election.
“You fought a good fight and won a battle you deserve so I congratulate you for your victory and offer you all my support,” he told Graphic Online’s George Ernest Asare.
Dr. Lartey is not the only candidate to concede defeat.
Flagbearer of the Ghana Union Movement Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has done the same.
This was disclosed by the Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin.
“Flagbearer of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Christian Kwabena Andrews, aka “Osofo Kyiri Abosom,” has just called President Akufo-Addo to congratulate him on his victory in the election,” Eugene Arhin posted on Facebook.
