Hehe…it is funny how bsc admin has different cut off points…I want to know why. Is it because of the law of demand and supply? 🙂

This is the worst system of admitting students to the degree program i have ever seen. It is not the duty of the administration to choose a student’s major. The only time the administration comes in is when the student asks for it and needed a counselor’s input. The professional schools eg medicine, dentristy or vertenary or law should admit students with first or advanced degrees like the top schools in the world. Please abolish these antiquated systems, we are in the 21st century.

If you had gotten admission, you would have been singing praises by now. Just so you know, admission is done by an algorithm. Depending on the number of people who applied to the school and the average grades, the algorithm adjusts the system to enable the intake of as many people as the school can handle. So let’s assume you chose law and about 200 other people also chose law and among these applicants the average grade is 7, the algorithm will use 8 or maybe 10 as the new cut-off mark. The algorithm will then find another department with space that your grades can ‘afford’. So if you didn’t get your choice of courses remember that you should have done better in your wassce and just because you want a particular doesn’t mean the school has to compromise and overcrowd an already overcrowded department

Which Ghana are we leaving in? How could the university change the cut off points knowing that they have already closed the admission Portal, mmmmm just because they don’t want us to be admitted of our program of choice right. Although I qualified but still have not been admitted why so.

No wonder you guys were not admitted. Simple comprehension. Cut off point is your score aggregate that gets you ‘considered’ for your selected program. Actual admission is based number allocated by the program for freshman admissions, the total number of applications received for the program and the scores for the prospective student applicants. Example, the list score for consideration of candidates for BA Law is 7. There are 100 slots available for freshman class, there are 1000 applicants to Law school, 500 have scored 7 or lower, 150 scored aggregate 6. This implies that there will 50 candidates with aggregate 6 and 350 with 7 who ‘qualified’ but cannot be admitted.
