Derby’s Foundation, a nongovernmental organization founded by the SRC President of Kings University College, Miss Christabel Queensley Derby, has joined efforts to support and cater for the less-privileged and the needy through a donation exercise it embarked on in the Lamgba community.
The vulnerable community which has been struck by the pandemic economically received a timely donation of items including bags of rice, oil, packs of indomie, Fante kenkey, pack of toilet rolls, sachet water, liquid soaps and alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
The Foundation seized the opportunity decisively to educate and sensitize members of the community on how to prevent themselves from contracting the Coronavirus.
They were then advised to adhere to the preventive measures outlined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to help them stay safe in this distress time.
Miss Derby, who doubles as the brand ambassador for Africa Tertiary Entrepreneurs Awards, made it known in a media interaction that Derby’s Foundation will continue to support the less vulnerable, adding that “we are here to love, care and inspire.”
She further appreciated support from Board members, donors, sponsors, national executives, members and volunteers who joined to make the vision a reality.
On their part, members of the community expressed their colossal gratitude to Derby’s Foundation for the kind gesture and invited other organizations, groups, individuals and stakeholders to come to their aid.
