Director of the Academic Quality Assurance unit at the University of Ghana, Professor Daniel Ofori has reiterated the essence of the evaluation system undertaken by students to check and improve the teaching and learning in the school.
According to him, the lecturer evaluation provides feedback to university authorities in order to put lecturers on their toes to deliver best teaching services to students.
He thus added that “we are trying to find ways on improving on the system and we can only do that when we get feedback from those who have been involved in it”.
He also noted that the course verification helps students to be sure that the course they registered for has been captured thus, giving them an assurance that they can fully partake in examinations without any problems.
“It helps you the individual to be sure that the courses that you registered have been captured. When you verify it also tells the system that indeed you have registered for the course and you expert to be able to write your exams.”
The Course Lecture Evaluation is a system that allows students to evaluate their lectures and courses every semester. It is a compulsory activity taken in the University of Ghana at the latter part of every semester within a three week period.
