Information reaching Univers News indicates that the Principal for the University of Ghana Accra City Campus, Prof Alex Asiedu has called off the elections after the UG-SRC electoral commission failed to officially inform him about the elections.
According to Univers News‘ reporter, Caleb Ahinakwah, the Principal for the Accra City campus ordered the whole process to halt when the presiding officer for the polling station was setting up because the UG-SRC electoral commission failed to write officially to him, about the SRC elections scheduled to be held today.
Speaking to Univers News, the University of Ghana Accra City campus SRC Vice-President, Smith Andam explained that Principal for city campus was unhappy because this is the second time UG SRC electoral commission failed to officially inform him about the elections. He further described the situation as a disrespect to the office of the city campus principal.
Univers News‘ Caleb Ahinakwah, also reported earlier, that there was confusion on the Accra City campus as the City Campus SRC President Emmanuel Abeka prevented the presiding officer for setting up for the elections because according to him, the city campus have their own SRC elections and as a result, there was no need to vote in the main campus SRC elections.
