The University of Ghana residential application portal has been reopened for level 200 and 300 non-resident students.
This was contained in a communique issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of the University on Friday, April 2, 2021.
Non-resident students who were unable to secure rooms have from today to Monday, April 5, 2021 to apply for residence.
According to the notice, “a total of 831 beds remained available from three UGEL and two private hostels.”
Head of Halls at the University of Ghana, Dr. Wiafe-Akenteng has confirmed that the communique is authentic.
“It was released by Public Affairs and it should be opened from this morning [on Friday]. The proposed period was from early this morning, up to late Monday…
“As to whether the UGCS has done it, I cannot tell but that message is authentic from the University and the idea is that there are still beds from UGEL halls and private hostels so it is authentic,” he assured.
He, however, revealed the traditional halls are full and that there would not be another opportunity for students to apply for residence after this grace period management is giving.
“After this one, it means the number of beds they have are what they have made available for students to apply for so the probability that there will still be beds after that is still very minimal or nonexistent.
“Unless some people who have applied earlier or those who have applied from today decide not to pay for it and therefore do not take possession,” he added.
