Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Costituency, Delali Kwasi Brempong has said that he is not intimidated by the construction of new roads by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
His remarks follow the renovation of some key roads in Dzorwulu and its surroundings.
The construction, which started on Saturday January 13, 2019 and expected to be completed by Thursday January 31, 2019 is barely a fortnight to the Ayawaso-West Wuogon by-election.
The move is speculated by many to be a strategy of the ruling NPP to persuade electorates to cast their vote in the party’s favor in the impending by-elections.

According to the one-time failed Parliamentary candidate, he is not moved by the construction of new roads by the government because electorates of the constituency have time and over again shown him immense support since the beginning of his campaign for the vacant parliamentary seat of the constituency.
“We have started our door to door campaign and the people have been showing me so much love and support. Aside my constituency, I have support from the regional and even national level; the new roads in no way intimidates me.”
Delali Kwesi Brempong further added that, the constituency for some time now has been neglected by the government and therefore it is welcoming news if the government has seen it fit to construct safe roads for the people.
“It is the duty of government to construct roads for the people and in fact government has been late in executing that function in the constituency. I don’t see why I should be intimidated if government is performing its duties.”
The Ayawaso West Wuogon seat became vacant following the death of the MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko on November 21, 2018.
In the forth coming Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election, Delali Kwasi Brempong will be contesting with Liberal Party of Ghana’s Clement Boadi, William Dowokpor of the Progressive People’s Party and one of the widows of Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, Madam Lydia S. Alhassan who is running on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
