Attaqwa Foundation, a non-governmental organization committed to helping the less privileged in society has donated some items to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital as part of the Eidul Fitr celebration.
The items that were presented include toiletries, biscuits, sachets of water and cooked food.
The items were estimated to cater for 100 persons, including staff of the hospital.
Presenting the items, welfare committee member of the Foundation, Yassir Arafat, said that the donation was to commend staff of the hospital for being diligent in undertaking their duties.
“We thank you for the services you are providing to our brothers and sisters who are here in this hospital, not everyone will be able to work here and take care of the patients as you are doing”
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital management, Senior Staff Nurse at the OPD Department, Solomon Tetteh, was grateful to the Foundation and called for more support.
“On behalf of the management and the director, we thank you for your kind gesture for this special occasion and we pray that Allah will continue to bless you as you also reach out your hands to us”
After the donation, members of the Foundation took a tour of some of the wards in the hospital.
A staff member at the female geriatric ward, mentioned that wheel chairs were needed in the hospital.
