The number of COVID 19 patients who have recovered from the disease has reached 83 after an additional 66 patients recovered from the diseases.
They have been discharged from their respective treatment facilities but health officials say they are still being monitored.
According to the Ghana Health Service, COVID19 patients in the country are considered to have fully recovered after testing negative for the virus twice.
All of the 83 recovered patients were part of the 268 confirmed cases under routine surveillance.
Meanwhile, Ghana case count for the coronavirus has increased from 636 to 641.
This indicates an additional five new cases, all in the Greater Accra Region.
“The five (5) new cases were recorded in the following locations; one from [the] Adentan Municipality and two (2) each from Ayawaso East and Ayawaso Central Municipalities. With the exception of one of the cases from Ayawaso East, all the new cases are asymptomatic. Contacts of the new cases are being listed for follow up.”
Ghana’s 641 cases are distributed across ten of its region, with Greater Accra leading the chart with 514 cases.
The Ashanti and Eastern Regions follow with 53 and 41 cases respectively.
The other regions where cases have been recorded are Northern Region (10), Volta Region (9), Upper West (7), Upper East (4), North East Region (1), Central Region (1), and Western Region (1)
