The Education Minister, Hon Yaw Osei Adutwum has disclosed that the government is capitalizing on collaborations with stakeholders within both the private and government sectors to eradicate leakage of examination questions.
He said this when he visited some schools taking part in this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in the Greater Accra Region following some reports of leakages in the exam.
Hon. Yaw Osei Adutwum disclosed that several questions are going to be set in order to prevent leakages.
He added that even if there should be a leakage, a candidate may not be sure that he/she is going to receive the particular question in the examination hall.
“There can be about five versions of the same test so if somebody creates a website and says this question has leaked, there are about ten versions so how do you know that this question is coming to your school or even if it comes to your school, how do you even know whether this is the question you’re going to be answering.”
In a media engagement at the frafraha community day school, the Minister also urged students to remain focus and disciplined as they continue to write the examinations so that they do not have any challenge with the laws of the land.
“They’re halfway through the exams and I expect them to follow directions, do all the right things. You don’t go into a test and put yourself in a situation where you’re going to get into trouble. So as we have exalted and encouraged, we want them to focus on the exams and stay away from anything that will destruct them.” that government is capitalizing on collaborations with stakeholders within both the private and government sectors We are going to set multiple questions and serialize WASSCE to eradicate leakages.
