Ghana’s coronavirus case count has risen from 1,550 to 1,671, the Ghana Health Service has announced.
This indicates an additional 121 more cases.
The spike in Ghana’s case count has been attributed to the government’s enhanced contact tracing and testing measures.
Some of the new cases were confirmed in the Upper East, Greater Accra, and Ashanti regions.
Ghana’s 1,671 cases were confirmed in twelve of Ghana’s sixteen regions, with Greater Accra recording over 1,300 cases.
Meanwhile, the number of recovery cases have also shot up to 188.
The death toll has also risen to 16 after five more persons succumbed to the disease.
