The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended its former Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs for what it describes as “persistent anti-party conduct.”
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the party said the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) took the decision on behalf of the National Executive Council (NEC) after a meeting held on Wednesday May 6, 2020.
His suspension takes immediate effect in accordance with “Article 46(1), 46(6) and 46(8)(b) of the party’s constitution,” the statement read.
“The matter has been referred to the Disciplinary Committee of the party for further action,” the statement read further.

The NDC had earlier requested media houses to not allow Mr Allotey Jacobs represent the Party as it’s communicator.
Allotey Jacobs, who had been addressing issues regarding President Akufo-Addo’s promise to construct 88 district hospitals in the country, advised the Party to stop the verbal attacks on the ruling party but support the good course.
