The staff of the Nation Builders Corps, NABCO has hinted on a massive demonstration in the coming week if their allowances which have been in the store since [November 2018] is not paid to them. The beneficiaries who picketed at the NABCO secretariat on March 11, argued that those on the policy who is yet to start work have received their allowances whiles those working have not.
In an exclusive interview with Universnews, a recruit under the Digitize Ghana Module of the policy, Nana Berimah Asamoah revealed that some of the members who partook in the picketing yesterday are being victimized, however, that will not deter them from carrying out their intended plan if their grievances are not addressed.
“I’m sure they’ve started to victimize some of them. If they say something, take heart. We are embarking on a serious demonstration. This time if they don’t pay us, I’m working tirelessly, if they don’t pay me, this time I’ll mobilize all the trainees we’ll embark on a serious demonstration and the fact is, with what we heard, NABCO has been fully funded and we don’t want them to operationalize the scheme on carrying forward basis. Every month we are expecting our money. If there is any delay in the payment in any of the month we will just raise the concern on that. So this week we are expecting it. If it doesn’t come, from Monday, from next going we will re-arrange a massive demonstration. He said.
We have no interest in delaying the salaries of NaBCO recruits
However, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo), Dr. Ibrahim Anyars has stated that the Secretariat has no interest to delay the salaries of the NaBCO beneficiaries stating that some of the recruits have delays in their salaries because they did not follow the necessary instructions. He, therefore, assured all those on the policy who have their data intact that they will be paid their January salaries in the coming days.
