President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party, has cast his ballot at the Kyebi Rocks of Ages Polling Centre.
He was accompanied by his wife, the First-Lady of the Republic, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo who also votes in the same constituency together with some of her daughters.
It will be the third time President Akufo-Addo and Mr Mahama, will be facing off, having met in 2016 and 2012, and now in 2020.
He voted some minutes after 10am at the polling station.
The 8th election of the 4th republic of Ghana is still ongoing today, Monday, December 7, 2020. Over 17 million Ghanaians are exercising their franchise at the over 38,000 polling stations across the country to elect a president and their Members of Parliament.
The exercise which began at 7am at most centres is expected to end at 5pm.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote, Mr. Akufo-Addo expressed optimism about being retained in the polls, adding that he is impressed with the smooth running of the voting process.
