University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) defeated the University for Development Studies (UDS) by 24:23 in what could be described as a fiercely contested game at University of Ghana handball court.
UPSA men dominated play in the first embers of the match, but UDS discovered their form late in the game after 3 UPSA players were sent off.
UPSA’s Jockey, Adenta and Mac received red cards for disrespecting the referee, unlawful entry onto the pitch and foul play respectively.
UPSA center backcourt, Supremo dictated and controlled the game brilliantly for the Madina-based institution.
The charismatic UPSA Coach, Emmanuel Tettey Sabutey in an interview with Univers Sports expressed excitement with his teams efforts.
“I had a feeling that I’ll beat them. I’m a coach who can’t be beaten twice or thrice. They beat me in Tamale 2018, and I beat them here. No matter what, I’ll look for an antidote and stop you.”
UDS’ coach, Iddrisu Ibrahim Kankani, also spoke to UniversSports as the game.
“We lost focus in the first ten minutes of the game. We were giving the balls out instead of possessing the ball because we were in a hurry. We lost the game in the first ten minutes but later we came into the game.”
