The Technical Committee of the Ghana Universities Sports Association has decided to reverse the walkover rule that was applied by some match officials in Day 1 of the 2020 GUSA Games.
With the walkover rule, if a team fails to be present 15minutes into the game, it will be considered that they have forfeited the game.
The female basketball team of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) is one of the teams that suffered with the walkover rule in Game Day 1 on Sunday.
In a meeting on Sunday evening, the GUSA Technical Committee agreed that the change in the scheduled time for the various sporting activities and further delay in communicating these changes to the teams could be a reason for which they made late appearances at the venue.
The Technical Committee also decided that all games that were declared as forfeited by a team will be rescheduled.
