Captain of the Male football team of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Benjamin Amakye is confident that his team will come bounce back strongly in the ongoing GUSA games despite their loss to their counterparts from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW)
Benjamin says that he is not disappointed with the performance of his teammates.
He believes that the game, which ended 1-0, courtesy a 48th minute Karim Salam Abdul strike, did not see his team perform badly.
Speaking to UniversSports after the game at the University of Ghana Main Field, Bejamin Amakye said that his colleagues were going to work harder to record a win in their next game.
I’m not disappointed, in everything we give thanks to God. It’s a tournament and it’s match after match. We are hoping for the best and I trust my guys. I know that we are going to improve with the matches left and work even harder. It wasn’t a bad game. We promise to give our best and we are going to win in this tournament.
Coach of the team, Ebenezer K. Amoah, further added that his men could not be blamed for the defeat as they did exactly as he instructed that.
UEW is a very good side. We have faced them several times and so we prepared well when we realized that we were facing them for the first game. The players did exactly as I told them and so I can’t blame them for the outcome. Although we have lost, we are going to do our homework and bounce back stronger in our next match.
The male football team of the University of Energy and Natural Resources are scheduled to face their colleagues from the University of Cape Coast tomorrow Monday, January 6, 2020.
