After spending one night in Police custody following disturbances that rocked the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Charles Nii Armah Mensah known as Shatta Wale and Livingston Etse Satekla known as Stonebwoy have been granted bail.
According to reports, Shatta Wale has been charged for offensive conduct due to the breach of peace and Stonebwoy has also been charged with the use and display of an offensive weapon in public that is threat to harm.
Shatta Wale who announced his freedom on Twitter, thanked the Ghana Government and called himself “Ghana King” and “Dancehall King”.
In the early hours of Sunday, there was an altercation between some members of the Shatta Movement and Bhim Nation.
Fan groups aligned to Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy respectively disrupted the 2019 edition of the VGMAs when Stonebwoy was announced the winner of the Reggae and Dancehall Artist of the year Category.
Shatta Wale and his crew also got onto the stage though there were efforts by security of Stonebwoy and his manager Black Cidi.
