Radio Presenter and Head of Communication for Zylofon Media, Samuel Atuobi Baah popularly known as Sammy Flex has stated that most Nigerian fans were not familiar with the songs that were performed by Ghanaian musicians at the recent concert held in Nigeria.
The concert which was aimed at promoting Zylofon Media and Menzgold in the Nigerian market angered some Ghanaian fans by the cold reception Nigerian fans gave to Ghanaian artists who performed.
In an interview on Radio Univers’ Brunch to Lunch show, Sammy Flex was of the view that the cold reception by the Nigerian fans were not planned but the fans were rather not familiar with the Ghanaian artists and their songs.
“The problem was that most of the Nigerian fans didn’t know the songs that were being performed by the Ghanaian artists and they were also not familiar with the artists.”
He went ahead to state that the concert was not a competition for them to line up the best artists in Ghana for the show but rather they went to Nigeria to work and they have achieved their motives.
“This was not a concert which we were going to compete with the Nigerian artists that we will select our best eleven from Ghana, but this was a concert which Zylofon media was going to work so the resources Zylofon media has that’s what we will use.”
“I can say that the impact we wanted at Nigeria we have achieved it because the main motive why we organized the concert is just to announce our presence in the Nigerian market because I can say that Zylofon media and Menzgold have offices which is now operational in the Nigerian market”.
The concert which was held at Eko Hotel witnessed performance from Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, King Promise, Joyce Blessing, Becca, Obibini and Kumi Guitar.
