Speaking on Campus Exclusive, the Executive Director for IPA Awards and Chrysos Event Hub, David Nad; lamented over the lack of support for photographers in Ghana. He explained how difficult it was to get sponsors for the Awards ceremony.
He said” Because people don’t really get what we are trying to focus on, they find it very difficult to come on board. They find it difficult to understand what the vision is about. They feel probably, it’s not the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards that awards musicians. Photographers are not that appreciated. They don’t make us feel relevant and that makes getting sponsorship more difficult.
“I’ve been doing the funds all by myself. I raise them myself and it’s not easy, trying to bring people from other countries. Financially, it has been very tough. we don’t really get sponsorship like we would want to” He admitted.
The event coordinator for Chyrsos Event Hub, Prince Addae, took the opportunity to enlighten the public on this year’s IPA Awards. According to him, the event would give photographers and patrons and the opportunity to interact and network with people.
“The greater part is the network you can create over there. We are looking at some high profile personalities to pass through and others who are in the same work-frame. You come in there, you make good network.”
