Ghana is set to experience a thrill in live music performances as it will play host to top female musician, Beyoncé Knowles’ vocal (Fx) engineer, Carl Golembeski.
This event is the first of its kind in Ghana called the Ghana International Music Clinic(GIMC) under the theme ‘professionalism in vocal fx for live music performances’ which is scheduled to take place in November, 2019 in Accra.
At the executive launch of the Ghana International Music Clinic, founder of the Institute of Professional Event Management (IPEM), organisers of the event, Nii Armah Addy, pointed out the absent ingredients that has prevented live music performances in Ghana from making its mark.
“What is lacking in Ghanaian music is their inability to translate studio excellence into real live music performance to give their audience amazing experience at shows”.
The founder also lamented on the resources wasted in their inability to produce quality music during such live performances as compared to their studio original work.
“Ghanaian musicians spend so much time and money in the studio to produce excellent tracks yet same quality of sound is not felt in their live performances,”
The event is called a ‘clinic’ because it will diagnose musical problems and prescribe solutions in a practical workshop setting.
Thus, the GIMC will serve as the backbone to promoting studio performances to real live performances in all genres of music.
This event will also serve as an opportunity for music lovers of all kinds to leapfrog their business career to international heights and glory as participants will be able to see, feel hands on demonstrations by the engineer, Carl.
Carl has worked as Beyoncé’s vocal fx engineer for the past four years developing a system to take her studio fx seamlessly into a live sound environment for real time control.
His approach to music currently is what he calls ‘creativity as service’, placing the art form and its expression as the priority over the industry standards like deadlines, budgets and marketing
