The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has condemned Rosemond Brown for posting a nude photo with her 7-year-old son on social media yesterday.
Actress Rosemond Brown also known as Akwapem Poloo posted a nude picture with her son on Instagram on Tuesday, wishing him a happy birthday.
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in a statement signed by the Minister, Hon. Cynthia Morrison, indicated that that photo posted by the actress can be classified as indecent exposure of the child, an act of pornography, degrading and also against the Children’s Act, 1998 (Act 560) and the Criminal and Other Offences Act, (Act 30).
She said the Ministry is therefore liaising with the appropriate agencies to handle the issue.
“The Ministry highly condemns this act which is classified as indecent exposure of the child, an act of pornography, degrading and also against the Children’s Act, 1998 (Act 560) and the Criminal and Other Offences Act, (Act 30). The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection is liaising with the appropriate agencies to deal with the issue,” part of the statement reads.
Police CID invites Rosemond Brown over nude photo with 7-year-old son
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service has invited actress Rosemond Brown for a nude photo she posted on social media on Tuesday, June 30.
Rosemond Brown’s nude photo featured her son who was turning seven.
The invitation from the Police CID was disclosed by the Deputy Gender Minister, Freda Prempeh, in a media engagement on Wednesday morning.
“Once there are laws to protect children, we will go according to it. It is unfortunate, I have seen so many apologies. Some people have called me that she has called them that she wants to talk to me. We will take the apology and she has been invited by the CID. We have to let the law take its course,” she said
