Entertainment Pundit and artiste manager, Ola Michaels is calling on the board and organizers of the Ghana Music Awards to uplift the ban on Reggae/ dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
His call comes on the back of Board Chairman of Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Rex Omar stating that the indefinite ban on the two Dancehall artiste should be upheld.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Univers Showbiz, the artiste manager of the “Yessa Massa” Hitmaker Joojo Addison; Ola Michael’s stated that since the two dancehall artistes had smoked the peace pipe they should be left off the hook.
“They have shown remorse, they have been of good behavior and out of that issue now they are in a relationship that they have never been before, there is a change so let’s just encourage the change we are seeing by uplifting the ban on them so they would be part of this year VGMA’s event” he stated.
Ola Michaels also noted that it will be miserable for the organizers to go into this year’s VGMA without the two artists on board.
“Stonebwoy, for example, did marvelously well last year and you can not do away with these two during the VGMA’s , it will be very suicidal. You can do away with one, at least they dealt away with Shatta for some time and didn’t affect anything but for us to do away with the two that will be very suicidal”.
Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were banned from the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) following a brawl that ensued at the recent 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). Prior to the event, all eyes were on who would have won the Raggae/ Dancehall artiste At the occasion, Stonebwoy emerged as the winner which led to Shatta wale going upstage with his militants which led to a scramble Stonebwoy pulled out a gun and make an attempt to shot the Shatta Movement President. this subsequently led to both artistes been stripped of awards they won that night.
