Father of Tyrone Marghuy has disclosed that his son is being prepared psychologically before reporting to Achimota Senior High School to continue his education.
This comes after the Human Rights Division of the Accra High Court on Monday 31, 2021 ruled that Tyrone Marghuy and Oheneba Nkrabea who had earlier been refused admission by the school for not shaving off their dreadlocks should be admitted.
Oheneba Nkrabea has already completed his admission process at the school.
According to the parents, their ward joined his classroom mates after he was warmly received by the school’s management.
Before his turn on Monday, Tyrone Marhguy is expected to undergo some counseling to help him mentally focus on his education after going through the back and forth tussle with the school, a development which accounted for his delay in reporting to school.
He stated that his lawyer has secured the legal document to certify that Tyrone should be enrolled in the school per the court’s order which will be presented upon his arrival at the school.
Speaking on Campus Exclusive on Thursday he said:
“We have that [the legal document] secured. It’s with the lawyer. The lawyer went for that and I have been notified so we will be going there [to the school] with it.”
“We will do all our preparations and send him Monday morning. We’re trying to get his books and some things for him…and prepare him also psychologically then we will take him there.
Mr. Marhguy was certain that Tyrone cannot be victimized upon arrival in school, adding that “people are not going to try to do anything like that.”
“I also know it’s not personal and even some of the teachers are not against us…they are the people we’re going to be dealing with most of the time so if they are not against us, personally, I don’t think anything is going to happen,” he said.
