The Ghana Oil Company(Goil) has reduced its fuel price by 15 pesewas in accordance with President Akufo Addo’s directives after a crunch meeting with the leadership of commercial driver unions on Monday, December 6.
The price of fuel at various Goil fuel pumps now stands at 6 cedis, 70 pesewas, which took effect on Tuesday, December 7.
This directive from the president follows a sit-down strike organized by commercial drivers in the country calling on the government to reduce the prices of fuel.
The strike action by the drivers left many commuters stranded at the various stations and others walking to their various destinations.
It was later suspended after the president called for a meeting with the leadership of the driver unions.
