Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and University of Energy and Natural resources (UENR) faced off in the first game of match day 10 [Tuesday, January 14].
A win was all KNUST needed to keep them high on the table heading into their penultimate fixtures.
The first quarter begun well for KNUST as they were the first to make a basket, thanks to the team’s captain Gustav Asiedu Addo.
The game was heated up as UENR made every effort to score some baskets as well.
This quarter however did not go well for KNUST as one of their team players, Joojo Kitson, sprained his ankle and had to sit on the bench.
The quarter ended with a score of 13 -0 against UENR.
The second quarter begun with a change of players from both sides. This was also intense, as pressure mounted on the players from UENR.
This quarter ended in a flash with KNUST scoring 31 against UENR’s 07.
The third quarter saw UENR making more baskets, thanks to fouls and a few skilled players.
This quarter however ended with KNUST still leading with 46 points and UENR 18.
The fourth andfFinal quarter was breath-taking as KNUST made more three point shots while maintaining a strong defense .
The game ended with a score of 66 – 24 with KNUST winning.
UENR’s defeat is their 6th in 8 games.
