UDS ladies faced off against KNUST ladies in a game KNUST was highly expected to take the win in the encounter.
The match started off with both teams playing a very physical brand of basketball.
UDS struggled to make shots whiles KNUST managed to score a few quick early points.
The points river for both teams looked dry until the 3 minute mark when KNUST tapped into a new well.
With 3 minutes left in the quarter, they scored a number of points to close out the quarter 13-2.
KNUST continued to pile on both the pressure and the points in the second quarter although there were moments where clear and open chances were missed.
For UDS, the story remained slight unchanged from the first period. They however managed to score 6 points in the quarter.
The second quarter ended 25-8 for KNUST.
The second half began with both teams struggling to take advantage of their opportunities to make shots.
The first points of the period came when in a moment of confusion, KNUST scored in their own basket.
The point was awarded to UDS bring the score to 25-10. UDS took advantage of this mishap and added an additional 6 points to end the quarter with 16 total points.
KNUST also continued to score and increased their point differential over UDS to 20. The third quarter ended 36-16 for KNUST.
The last period of the game saw both KNUST look to increase their point total and ensure their victory.
For UDS, a comeback looked highly unlikely. They resigned themselves to making the score respectable.
The 4th quarter saw a reduction in physical intensity both teams tried to avoid any serious injuries.
The game finally ended with KNUST taking the win with a 52-26 result.
