Ghanaian athlete, Mercy Angaamchaab, has gold for the University of Cape Coast in the ongoing Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
She won in the 800m finals (Women’s division).
Angaamchaab finished the race in 2:17.905s ahead of University of Development Studies’ duo Abusuare Alhare and Rafattu Imoro.
The UDS duo finished the race in 2:23.181s and 2:25.371s respectively.
Although Mercy Angaamchaab was excited with the outcome of the race, she was unhappy about her failure in recording a personal best.
She adds that the weather in Accra was not favourable,
“I was very happy with the time I made. When we came here, the weather was different from the one in Cape Coast so we found it difficult training. However, this is the best we’ve made. Next time, we will improve,” he said.
