University of Cape Coast’s Edwin Gadayi has managed to beat African Games gold medalist Benjamin Azamati to win gold in the men’s division of the 200m final.
Edwin Gadayi, finished the race in 21.490s, leaving Fusieni Ibrahim of the University of Education, Winneba and University for Development Studies’ Wallace Aflamah fighting for silver and bronze respectively.
Whearas UEW’s Fuseini Ibrahim finished in 21.498s, UDS’ Wallace Aflamah crossed the finish line in 21.518s.
University of Ghana’s sensation, Benjamin Azamati disappointingly finished the race in fourth place in 21.680s.
In an interview with UniversSports, Edwin Gadayi , a 2019 African Games semi-finalist , admitted that the race was not as easy as he anticipated.
He acknowledged the efforts of his fellow athletes and mentioned that his experience in the 200m sprint what was helped him pull through.
